It has been 6 weeks since hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas and, with the media’s attention now turned elsewhere, much of the Bahamas is still dealing with catastrophic damage, thousands of missing loved ones and the daily task of simply finding the essentials for survival.

Amidst the destruction, Bahamian government agencies with support from foreign governments and NGOs are working to restore vital services for the citizens of Abaco and Grand Bahama.

Krysp Wireless is playing a crucial role in this recovery effort working with wireless carriers on the islands to provide wide-spread fixed wireless coverage.  The Bahamian government is working hard to erect large tent cities in the hardest areas to provide shelter, sanitary facilities, showers and drinking water for the thousands of displaced residence.

Of course, resurrecting vital communication links for both residences and government field personnel is a critical component of the overall recovery effort.  Given the wide expanse of required coverage, traditional wi-fi equipment is simply too expensive and time consuming to install.  Super Wi-Fi™️’s ability to facilitate long range coverage with a minimal number of base stations is proving to be an ideal solution for this humanitarian crisis.

Krysp expects its equipment to be up and running by the end of October serving up to 10 tent cities across the most devastated areas of Abaco and Grand Bahama Islands.
